West Lane Baptist Church plays a large part in the support network of the local community as well as the religious life of the village, often taking the lead in ecumenical matters and using its building for the good of the whole community not just for its members.

We are a thoughtful, open and inclusive church looking to follow Jesus where God’s loving Holy Spirit leads.  Our ‘Baptist’ roots remind us that we are congregationally led (we have no bishops etc!) and this allows us to respond to local issues as they arise.  It also means that we reserve the sacrament of baptism for those who choose it, rather than baptising infants at their parents request.
